Mullens finishes 3rd at Springfield

Tanner Mullens’ recent family vacation was cut one day short, allowing the driver to compete in the Modified division at Springfield (Missouri) Raceway on Saturday evening.

Mullens, one of 18 Modified drivers at the quarter-mile track, piloted the No. 444 car in the event instead of his familiar No. 02.

He finished second in his heat race and rolled off fifth in the 30-lap, $2,066-to-win feature. He picked up two positions to score a podium finish behind winner Terry Phillips and runner-up Terry Wolff. Dillion McCowan and Jaren Martin rounded out the top five behind Mullens.
