Racing his way into the feature via a runner-up finish in his B-Main after placing fifth in his heat, Mullens improved eight positions in the 35-lap affair to finish 11th.

Returning on Friday for the United States Modified Touring Series-sanctioned End of Summer Bash, Tanner secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with heat race victory. Advancing forward four spots in the 42-lapper, Mullens rolled to a third-place finish. He followed Jake O’Neil and A.J. Diemel across the line with Jake Timm with Dustin Sorensen rounding out the Top-5.

On Saturday evening at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.), Mullens followed up a fourth-place finish in his heat with a fourth-place outing in his consolation event. Wheeling his way into the Top-10 in the feature, Tanner passed 13 cars to cross the line in seventh.

For Sunday’s War in West Union at Fayette County Speedway (West Union, Iowa), Tanner’s fourth-place finish in his heat positioned him 10th on the starting grid for the Labor Day weekend finale. With $10,000 on the line, Mullens rebounded to finish 12th after suffering a right-rear flat while running in seventh.

Tanner remains in second in the latest USMTS point standings.
