Mullens finishes third in Wild West Shootout Modified point's title

Wrapping up the final three nights of the Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly, Tanner Mullens was back in action on Friday at Vado Speedway Park (Vado, NM) powering his Mel Hambelton Ford No. 02 Modified. In a field of 42 cars, Mullens gained five spots in his heat race to place fifth. Passing seven more cars in the 25-lap feature, Tanner reeled in a fifth-place finish.

On Saturday, Mullen’s ninth-to-fourth charge in his heat race set him up on the third row for the $1,000-to-win feature. Clawing forward three spots, Tanner scored a third-place finish.

For the finale on Sunday, Tanner recorded a fifth-place finish in his heat, which positioned him 13th on the starting grid for the $2,000-to-win finale. Moving up seven spots in the 25-lap affair, Mullens raced forward to cross the line in sixth. With his sixth consecutive Top-10 finish of the event, Tanner finished third in the Modified points standings.
